Introduction
In Egyptian, ايه رايك can precede a suggestion. This reveals a course of action that the speaker is prepared to take or a course of action they think someone else should take. This is in contrast to a typical question using the phrase 'what's your opinion' as in 'What's your opinion of traveling during the COVID pandemic?' In this question, the speaker does not reveal that they are willing to travel but are simply interested in the thoughts of the listener.
The words طب and بقى often accompany this phrase. As you will see below, the conditional marker لو can accompany this phrase, but it is more common to leave it out. It is also worth noting that the complementizer إن is generally not inserted between ايه رايك and the verb when ايه رايك is introducing a suggestion. In the corpus CALM, there are 44 sentences in which ايه رايك precedes a suggestion. Only one of them contains the phrase ايه رايك إن.
